Our Story
Born from a gap
no one was filling.
I spent twenty years working in fashion — first as a buyer, then as a stylist — and the same frustration followed me everywhere. The women I dressed were sharp, experienced, and deeply stylish. But the stores weren't built for them. Everything was either too young, too corporate, or too safe.
Avelon NYC started in my apartment in 2019 with a single rack of pieces I'd sourced myself: a tailored blazer with just enough edge, a pair of wide-leg trousers that felt like a second skin, a hoodie that didn't look like it belonged in a teenager's wardrobe. My friends wore them. Their friends asked where they were from.
That's when I knew. There was a whole generation of women who wanted to dress with intention — who loved the energy of New York streetwear but needed it to move with their lives, not against them.
